Guidelines for Authors

The research articles will be reviewed by two anonymous peer reviewers in addition to the initial review by the editorial board. It is important that the submitting author(s) comply with the ethics laid down by the APA in its latest publication manual. As per HEC policy, the paper will be published subject to its clearance for plagiarism.

Preparation of Manuscript

Articles written only in Urdu and English languages are accepted for publication. Research papers should be up to 4000-8000 words (English) and 15-20 pages (Urdu) including visuals (black and white) following the Journal’s format guidelines. Contributions exceeding 8000 words (English) and 20 pages (Urdu) should be discussed with the editor prior to submission for special consideration.

Publication Fee

BRJIS does not charge any fee at any stage of publication process. BRJIS is funded by Bahria University. 

Sending the Manuscript to BRJIS

Electronic submission is preferred. Correspondence regarding publication should be addressed to the Editor at BRJIS@bahria.edu.pk and for sending manuscript through surface mail address the Editor, Payam-i-Iqbal Bahria Research Journal on Iqbal Studies, Iqbal Chair, Bahria University, Shangrilla Road, Sector E-8, Islamabad.

Submission implies the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere. If the manuscript forms part of a book in press, provide details of the book’s publisher, projected publication date, and relationship with the submitted material.

Publication Policy

BRJIS follows a double-blind peer-review process. Each article is reviewed by two reviewers. Authors are informed of reviewer comments and are required to revise their paper within the stipulated time period.

Copyright Policy

1. Copyright Ownership and License Agreement: Upon acceptance, authors transfer copyright to the journal. The journal grants authors the rights to share the article in academic settings, include it in theses, and reproduce it for personal use or institutional repositories with acknowledgment.
2. Author Warranties: Authors must ensure the work is original, does not infringe any rights, and reproduced materials are properly credited.
3. Copyright Violations: Any violations are the author(s)’ responsibility. The journal may withdraw articles in case of confirmed violations.

Ethics for Authors

1. Authorship Contribution: All authors must have made significant contributions.
2. Unethical Practices: Gift authorship, ghost authorship, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification are prohibited. BRJIS may request raw data.
3. Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose potential conflicts to BRJIS@bahria.edu.pk.
4. Misconduct Allegations: Follow the journal’s ethical policies. Complaints are investigated, and corrective actions may be taken if misconduct is confirmed.

Guidelines for English Articles

The manuscript should be error free. It should be up to 4000-8000 words. Contributions exceeding 8000 words (English) and 20 pages (Urdu) please be discussed with the editor, prior to the submission for special consideration owing to the work reported. All submissions must have a title, be left aligned with font size 12, font type Times New Roman, and be double spaced with a margin of 3 cm all round.

BRJIS invites research focussing on the practical applicability of Iqbal’s wisdom and teachings. 

Abstract: The abstract should range between 150 – 250 words for all articles. An abstract is a concise summary of the whole paper, not just the conclusions. It should state the purpose of the study, hypothesis/research questions, method, analysis, main findings and conclusions. Abstract to be followed by 4 to 7 keywords. 

Manuscript: The manuscript should have elaborate introduction, clearly stated research objectives/research questions, research methodology adopted, research methods used, findings and discussions/conclusion. Future research directions will also be preferred. Any content other than English should have English translation. The verses need to be confirmed for correctness.

References: Follow APA’s manual format 6^th edition or later for writing references in the text and list of references.

Authors’ Note: Include the names of all authors, their position in authorship, their organizational / departmental affiliations and the postal as well as email address of the corresponding author. Authors note should be on separate sheet to facilitate blind peer review. Nothing in the main article should indicate the identity of the authors.

Submission of work to اقبال پیام Bahria Research Journal on Iqbal Studies is taken to imply that the same manuscript is not under consideration by another journal. If the submitted manuscript forms part of a book currently in press, advise the editors at the time of submitting: details of the book's publisher; its projected publication date; and the precise relationship between the material in the submitted manuscript and in the book.
