Abstract

Iqbal is considered as one of the thinkers of his times because of the values of his educational thoughts. The element of education and training is very important in human development. Iqbal wants to have such a system of education and training that prepares Muslims who are aware of their purpose in life and the capital of the country and the nation. They have abilities and they have the passion to conquer stubbornness. According to Iqbal, knowledge that only enlightens the mind and does not create yearning and anxiety in the heart is useless. Iqbal's own philosophy (Khudi) is to create awareness of his personality in the child and to awaken his natural powers. Iqbal's aspiration from education and training is not to achieve materialism and livelihood. Rather, education should be such that it fulfills the material and spiritual needs of a person along with character building. this research is a qualitative study which explored the realms of education and training in Iqbal’s thought through extensive library research and analysis of literature. It included Iqbal’s primary poetic and prose work in addition to contemporary and historical research on Iqbal’s educational philosophy. This paper presents the basic objectives of education and training in the light of Iqbal's thoughts so that we know where we stand in the present era and what will be our action plan for the future.
