Abstract

Teachings of Iqbal are the eminence of humanity. Behind the thoughts of Iqbal, there is the philosophy of the unity of the Islamic nation. We have not paid any kind of attention to promote the Iqbal’s thought since the establishment of Pakistan. In our educational institutions, we are trying to promote western ideas but we pay very little attention towards Iqbal`s thoughts. There are many reasons which hinder the understanding of Iqbal’s thought. Lack of the understanding of Persian and Arabic language is one of them. It is necessity of the time to conduct seminars, workshops and conferences in order to focus on developing the interest for Iqbal’s thoughts among students. There are many aspects in Iqbal’s poetry such as moral, scientific, urban and Islamic aspects, understanding of them can be made possible through lectures. This article explored the various venues to promote Iqbal’s philosophy in educational institutes through extensive and in-depth analysis of literature including both the primary and secondary work on Iqbal’s philosophy. Through this article, it is attempted to cover the aspects that hinder the promotion of Iqbal’s thought and highlight the points by which they can be overcome.
