Allama Muhammad Iqbal was educated in modern educational institutions. As a learner and teacher, the more he studied and observed the Western education system, the more he despised its dehumanizing effects and manifestations and became closer to Qur'an. He concluded from the profound observation and study of contemporary intellectual institutions and Western philosophies that a system fully compatible with divine revelation and prophetic calling and teaching is the guarantee of building human life and permanent success. This paper endeavours to know some basic features of education and education system and renewing thoughts and practices in light of Iqbal's thoughts. The methodology employed was an in-depth review of literature and study of Iqbal’s primary text along with reference to research articles and books on the same subject. In light of Iqbal’s views on education and learning and the education system, we can shape our education system according to the universal principles of the Qur'an. Iqbal is against the formal static religious schools on the one hand and the soulless materialistic system of modern Western institutions on the other hand. According to him, religion and the world, science and Quranic teachings are not separate, but the Quran itself invites the study of the universe and the conquest of the universe. Iqbal advocates the use of human senses in the light of the Qur'an and the revitalization of the entire system on the basis of the Qur'an.
