Abstract

Allama Muhammad Iqbal's poetry exudes a profound sense of universality, which becomes even more apparent when viewed through the lens of engineers. The inherent harmony and spirituality present in his verses not only address the educational and research challenges of our modern era but also offer deep insights that can contribute to practical solutions for various industrial and national issues. In this context, Iqbal's poem "Javed Kay Naam" holds significant importance as it allows for a reinterpretation that resonates strongly within the engineering world. To explore Iqbal's poetry from an engineering perspective, we have established a conceptual framework rooted in scientific references and temporal facts. This framework provides engineers with a fresh angle to perceive their domains, offering valuable support and guidance. We propose that the metaphors used in Iqbal's poetry, such as "Diyaar-e-Ishq" (Abode of Love), "Naya Zamaana" (New Era), and "Sheeshe-garan-e-Farang" (Glassblowers of the West), can be reinterpreted in terms of research domains, technological advancements, international research standards, and more. This alternative perspective transforms the entire composition into a unique synergy, inspiring engineers to harness their potential for enhancing the quality of scientific research conducted within our universities. This, in turn, paves the way for advancements in the industrial, economic, and societal realms. Ultimately, this approach fosters the realization of a prosperous and enlightened nation through the integration of engineering principles with Iqbal's timeless poetry.
